Hey Roseleaf. Not a lot of people tend to use this site anymore but we have a discord server where you can catch up and chat with some members. Technically there is a roleplay aspect to that server but its more there as an option for people and doesn't have many if at all any people trying to roleplay on it.

OOC: this is Deathpaw coming in with news from another patrol
Deathpaw ran hard through the forest and back towards camp. As she approached she realized that Jetstar was not at camp, realizing he had left just before her own patrol. Deathpaw stopped running and drank in the Shadowclan scents around her, the first scent she could find was the old scent of her border patrol. The second scent she found was Jetstar's hunting patrol. She immediately began following the scent. Making sure to keep a quick pace going, Deathpaw felt happy on the inside, one of her plans was actually working! As the scent of the patrol grew stronger, Deathpaw quickened her pace to find Stormsight, Jetstar, and Aspenfur.
"Jetstar! Nightpelt needs you on the Riverclan border. We've found evidence Riverclan has been hunting for sport in our territory!" Deathpaw spat angrily, her tail lashing for emphasis.

Deathpaw gave a nod, a serious look growing on her face. However, the look only masked the glory Deathpaw felt inside of her. This mouse could lead to a war against Riverclan! While her target was to find a way to clash with Windclan, Deathpaw knew she'd get her chance eventually. Besides, a little blood shed never hurt anybody.
"Alright! I'll be back as soon as possible!" Deathpaw said, before leaving her squirrel by her mentor's side. It was a big squirrel and shouldn't be put to waste. Turning around, Deathpaw took off running in the direction of camp.

Deathpaw made her way to where she had last seen the two warriors. The big squirrel she had caught was in her mouth. However, it wasn't too hard to follow the scents of the two warriors after she had found the trail. She followed it recklessly, making sure her approach was as loud as possible so the warriors knew she was coming. Pushing through a bush, Deathpaw finally found where the two warriors were, gathered around the dead mouse she had rolled in Riverclan scent. They looked furious, and so Deathpaw decided to play it all as if she was innocent, and, as far as they knew, she was. Placing the squirrel on the floor she stepped forward, head twisted in a look of curiousity. A sniff and she hissed loud.
"What's - Riverclan scent! Did Riverclan catch this mouse?!" Deathpaw hissed angrily, puffing her fur up as if to seem even angrier.
"Look Nightpelt they didn't even eat it! They're hunting for sport on OUR territory!" Deathpaw said as she lashed her tail in anger. This wasn't the first time she had pretended to be angry, and so she hoped she could come off as convincing as she always had.

After Deathpaw had washed her fur dry after her failed attempt at hunting frogs, she returned to the shadowy comfort of the pines. Looking around, she didn't see much of anything. However, a quick sniff of the air told her there was a squirrel nearby. She crouched down and began to stalk in the direction of the scent. It wasn't long until she saw what she had scented earlier. It was a big squirrel, fairly old by the looks of some dusky gray patches on his brown fur. He chewed busily away at a nut he had been fortunate to find on the floor. Every few seconds he'd stick his head up and look around before continueing to chew away.
With the squirrel facing away from her, Deathpaw decided she would strike. While it was busily chewing, she darted rather than pounced between the squirrel and the tree, using her front paws to push the squirrel away from any nearby trees. The squirrel, surprised and still trying to recover, took a moment to understand what was happening. But a moment was all Deathpaw needed as she sprung and delived a quick bite, killing it.
Satisfied with her catch, despite hunting not being her best skill, Deathpaw decided she'd go in search of her mentor and Nightpelt. Perhaps they had found the gift she had left for them at the border?

The pace was quick, but Birchgrove made sure to stay alert on the way to the gnarled tree. To his right as he followed after Larkdawn was the lake. To his left the moors. Ahead, Skyclan territory. No where near as lush as Thunderclan territory, yet no where near as bare in woodland as Windclan's territory. The environment suited the well bult jumpers, giving them cover and space to jump. As they neared the gnarled tree, Birchgrove began to think of the upcoming marker.
There was only one other marker on Skyclan's border, higher up in the hills. An old collapsed badger den, no longer suitable for living, that was easily distinquishable due to the large indent it left in the ground. Even snow couldn't hide the marker. Seeing as everyone in the patrol had participated in leading the way to a marker besides Browntail, Birchgrove decided he'd let the warrior lead next.
"Good job Larkdawn. I didn't scent anything unusual either. Browntail care to lead the way to the next marker?" Birchgrove asked. His eyes constantly checked the position of the sun and he made sure to wake up earlier the next day so that a border patrol could go out earlier.

Silverblossom let the two warriors converse. Not too particularly interested in whatever the two had to say. Her mind was more interested in looking around and interpreting signs from StarClan, who had been silent for the last few moons. Silverblossom hoped that it meant peace for the upcoming moons. A silvery glint caught her eye high up in the branches but well out of her reach. The branches were far too thin for her to try to get the cobwebs. Letting her eyes travel around, Silverblossom unfortunately didn't spot any other herbs worth collecting. A quick wiff of the air told her there was a yarrow bush nearby, however, Silverblossom wasn't particularly interested in harvesting it quite yet as her storages were full at the moment. Since the group of cats was moving at a decent pace towards the Windclan stream, Silverblossom decided she'd question her apprentice on whether or not she knew that there was yarrow nearby and what it was used for.
"Tell me, what can you scent?" Silverblossom asked Softpaw.

Birchgrove was surprised by Larkdawn's presence, but he wasn't one to reject a conversation. As he kept the patrol moving, he thought about the question Larkdawn had poised.
"Well, if I know anything, it's that troubles always rise between clans when there are hungry mouths to be fed. It is entirely possible that the clans could decide to start moving away from the bubble of peace that has been kept for so long. However, should the clans start causing trouble we should be fine. Windclan territory is full of prey that either runs too fast for other cats to find or dig deeper than cats would dare follow. I suspect we'll be left alone and if not, we'll show them that our claws are as sharp as our tongues," Birchgrove told the she-cat. He spoke the final part with a chuckle, a result from reminiscing about the group of warriors he had eavesdropped on at the last gathering. Apparently they had thought that Windclan cats were too stern.
As Birchgrove came to a halt at the final border mark, Birchgrove quickly marked it. The lake was only a hundred or so fox-lengths away. Turning to look back at the patrol, Birchgrove immediately took notice of the rising sun.
"We'll need to move faster if we want to be back by sunhigh. Remember that even though we'll be heading towards the Skyclan border next, make sure to keep your eyes open for any cats venturing by the water's edge. They're fine so long as they're within three fox-lengths but it's always best to make sure. Larkdawn why don't you lead the patrol to the next marker?" Birchgrove suggested.
The next marker was a twisted looking tree, across from the current marker on the Skyclan side of the moors. The patrol would have to move fast if it wanted to get the border marked on time.

Now that Deathpaw had done what she had originally planned, she walked to the lake. The walk was generally short before she started to feel the hard pebbles beneath her paws. Taking in the soft feeling of the rocks beneath her paws, Deathpaw heard a splash. Looking around widely, she spotted a bit frog wading around in the lake shallows. She quickly crouched down and approached the unaware frog. As she got ready to leap, the frog finally took notice of her and let out a load croak. Not wanting to miss the fresh-kill, Deathpaw jumped forward, only to slip of the slippery pebbles and crash into the lake. She stood up, her pelt soaked as she lashed her tail angrily. The frog was long gone and she was soaked. Taking a look at herself, Deathpaw felt a little proud. At the very least she had a way to show how her she no longer smelled of Shadowclan. It was an excellent fall back plan.

OOC: sorry guys didnt notice the thread had been updated ;-;
"I'll lead the way to the next marker," Birchgrove told the rest of the patrol. Although Brookpaw had led the patrol rather quickly, Birchgrove had to admit she'd done a good job.
"Good work Brookpaw," Birchgrove told the small apprentice. Seeing as Brookpaw had re-scented the current marker, Birchgrove waved his tail for the others to follow before taking the lead. His pace wasn't as fast as Brookpaw's, but he made sure the patrol moved along at a rate that allowed the cats to easily follow along while maintaining a large amount of vigilance in the area. The air carried the scent of Thunderclan, having been carried on a breeze that had blown through the nearby Thunderclan forests. A stale fox scent brought slight alarm to Birchgrove, but he relaxed when he noticed it had headed towards Thunderclan's territory. So far, it seemed the patrol would be a regular one, with little activity, a result of the moons of peace around the lake no doubt.

Deathpaw walked through the woods. She knew that if she got caught doing what she was trying to do, she'd get into some trouble. She'd found some wet pine needles and had rolled in them until she was sure her scent had been hidden before she slowly walked to the border. She made sure to pay close attention to her surroundings, not wanting to get caught. The scuttle of small paws caught her attention, but she relaxed when she realized it was merely a small mouse chewing on a pine cone. Deathpaw wasted no time in catching the small mouse before continuing on her way.
Deathpaw opened her mouth to scent the air and, once she was sure there was no one around, rolled the dead mouse on the Riverclan border, covering it in Riverclan scent. Deathpaw was hoping that this fresh-kill would make Shadowclan suspicious of Riverclan. Peace around the lake had lasted far too long and she was hoping the mouse could spice things up. After scenting the air, Deathpaw stalked as far ahead as Swiftwhisper and Nightpelt as she dared before dropping the mouse along the border on Shadowclan's side. Confident in her work, Deathpaw moved deep into the pines, away from the border and the pines and towards the lake, though her scent was still hidden, she had a solution. Hunting frogs had never been Deathpaw's specialty, but she was sure she had a solution.

"Robinfeather has a point. Leaf-fall is just another reminder that Leaf-bare is coming. The trees in our territory lose their leaves, the heat of Greenleaf that we are so used to disappears. Plants begin to die and Gathering herbs becomes much harder. Hunting becomes much harder, because the fallen leaves give prey better places to camouflage and more hiding spots. The only benefit of Leaf-fall is that squirrels run amok, trying to finish foraging for their Leaf-bare hibernation as quickly as possible," Silverblossom told her apprentice. As she finished talking she realized that Robinfeather had a point and as such answered his question, speaking both to Speckledlily and Robinfeather.
"We're looking for two herbs. The first, isn't a plant. I'm looking for cobwebs, I trust you've both seen them before? They're rather easy to find. Just search in any dark places like tree hollows, the inside of a log, and right beneath big branches. We need cobwebs for sealing wounds, with Leaf-fall almost among us, we want to be ready in case a battle breaks out or someone gets hurt while fighting a badger or fox. The next herb is why we'll be going to the stream along the Windclan border. It's a flowering plant, with yellow and sometimes white flowers that resemble dandelions. While it usually grows best in Newleaf, we should be able to find some that are still alive. Coltsfoot stay in bloom til early Leaf-fall," Silverblossom explained to both the warriors, before adding in," and Softpaw. Make sure you remember their usage. I'll be quizzing you later."

Silverblossom paid close attention to what Softpaw had said. Usually she would report to Pinestar on matters such as the ones Softpaw had pointed. However, she figured she'd let her apprentice have the glory this time. "That's quite the observation Softpaw! Pinestar's patrol should be back when we've returned, how about you tell him so he can make an announcement to the clan when we get back?" Silverblossom suggested. She wanted to make sure her apprentice got used to the role of Medicine Cat and that included confiding with Pinestar when it had to be done. Silverblossom watched the kits scamper around camp from the corner of her eye, but was relieved to see that Petalstorm had a good eye on them. "Since we're all ready, then let's go!" Silverblossom said as she padded out of camp, eager to see the forest once again. OOC: gathering herbs thread ssswarriorcats.proboards.com/thread/9200/gathering-herbs-silver-frost-ninja

Silverblossom walked out of camp, letting in a sigh as she took in the smell of the forest around her. It was Green-Leaf and, like the name suggested, the trees were as green as ever. It still wasn't Sunhigh, but she was sure it'd come soon. Silverblossom caught a scent of cat but after a quick sniff realized it was the hunting patrol that had left earlier. Their scent trail was beginning to grow stale. Ignoring the scent, Silverblossom turned to look at the three cats accompanying her, her apprentice, Softpaw and the two warriors that were escorting them on the search for herbs, Robinfeather and Speckledlily.
"It's such a beautiful day isn't it?" Silverblossom commented.

Viper decided that he didn't mind going for another hunt. He was about to answer when he stopped to take in just how beautiful the she-cat was. He brushed away the thoughts in his head. Deciding to play along with the little game she had him in, Viper gave a scoff in reply.
"Just mice? What do I look like to you, a kit? I'm the hunter out here precious, and I can hunt anything. I can hunt mice, squirrels, blackbirds, fish, voles, and...even pretty little she-cats like you," Viper said as he shot Clarabelle a mischievous look with that last portion, before waving his tail toward the nearby stream.
"I bet it's full of fish, let's go see," Viper said as he led the way.
