Snowpaw looked out across the camp, where the sun rose, pairing the sky an ombré orangish-red. She flicked her ear, breathing in the sweet fall air. The heather that circled the camp was a golden brown, swaying in the breeze. Sunpaw lifted her chin and closed her eyes, the wind lightly ruffling her fur.

Browntail walked out of the Warriors' den towards Sunpaw, head and tail held high. She was in a good mood today, and decided to join Sunpaw. Sunpaw had her eyes closed, so Browntail thought it was a great opportunity to scare her. Quietly, the young warrior creeped up behind her until she was right behind Sunpaw. Her breath softly touched Sunpaw's neck, and the brown she-cat's shadow cast over her. Boo!" shouted Browntail.

Snowpaw opened one eye, not surprised. "Really, Browntail?" She said, then blinked her eyes open. "Do you need something? Do you have an injury?" She said in her usual annoyed and sharp voice.

Browntail snorted. Her mood was affected by Sunpaw's irked tone. "Course not, silly! I just came here to hang out, since I'm not on patrol right now," the brown warrior said in a bit of an irritated voice. "Are you annoyed are something, because I can leave you alone if you need some alone time by yourself." Then she added, "Why don't you lighten up a bit, will you?" The young warrior sat down on the short grass and curled her fluffy tail around her paws and groomed her chest fur.

"If you knew me, you would know I'm always like this. They don't call me a lynx for just my spiky ear tips and bobbed tail. My kind are known for a snappy attitude." Snowpaw exclaimed, flicking her pointy ears.

Browntail looked up from grooming her chest fur and rolled her eyes. Snappy attitude, huh? Can't you just be a bit cheerful for one minute?! Gosh, I wonder if all cats who talk to her get as impatient with her as much as I do. But the brown she-cat knew she had to deal with this, since Sunpaw was the only one around right now to actually chat with. "Do you really want to talk about this, or do you want to chat about something more decent?" Browntail asked as her tail tip twitched.

"Okay, then. How are things between you and your Clanmates?" She asked, but wasn't used to asking cats questions besides when healing.

"Fine, I guess. Everything's going good around here, " Browntail replied. The brown warrior looked around the clearing. There weren't much cats up yet, but it was kind of early in the morning. The wind ruffled her fur, and she liked the feel of it. The she-cat turned back to Snowpaw, straightened up her back, and then asked "You going to the Moonpool soon?" She yawned.

Snowpaw looked up, peering at the rising dawn that warmed her fur, unlike the cold tundra she was used to living in. "In two sunrises." She had been waiting impatiently–something was pulling her towards the Moonpool, or further. Perhaps once I became a medicine cat, I'm going to be a full-fledged adult. Soon I'll have to go back to the mountains, in at least 9 moons or so.

"Two sunrises then." Browntail said thoughtfully. She stood up and shook her fur out. As the sun rose, more cats came out of their dens and went to do their duties. The deputy was organizing patrols, the warriors were taking out their apprentices...it all seemed peaceful enough, which was a bit of a feeling she didn't have often. It was always so busy at times. She sighed. "Are you going to become a full medicine cat in the next two or three moons?" Browntail inquired. She didn't really know what else to say to keep the conversation going except to ask questions right now.

"I hope so. I've been an apprentice for too long." Snowpaw muttered. She had wanted to be a full medicine at so bad–to be able to be the first cat a Clanmate comes to for healing, to recieve signs from StarClan, and, eventually, have an apprentice. But, until then, she was still a 'paw. She didn't like doing what she was expected to do. it didn't work like that in her birthplace. Shoudn't have come here.

Browntail nodded in understanding. When she was an apprentice, she always wanted to be a warrior. And there she was, in the camp, talking to a medicine cat apprentice as a warrior. Her ears flicked and her tail swished as she heard prey dropping. She turned around to see some rabbits and a couple of birds that were freshly caught being dropped on the fresh-kill pile.
The sun had now fully emergered, and its rays beat down on the cats' backs. Browntail licked her pelt, and a few strands of fur fell off her coat. It was shedding season for the brown warrior. The she-cat was now lying down on the ground comfortably. Her belly grumbled. Maybe she should eat. "Do you want to go and eat?" she asked Snowpaw, turning her head towards the fresh-kill pile.

Birchgrove rushed down the slope and into camp, rather disappointed to not find any cats on guard. In his jaws he held two moderately sized hares. The tabby tom has awoken early to do some hunting and was just now returning to camp. He was presently surprised to find that his leader had not emerged from his den. Deciding to take no notice, Birchgrove instead turned to the meager looking fresh-kill pile, dropping his catch on the pile before turning to dip his head respectfully at Sunpaw and Browntail in greeting.
"Good morning, both of you," Birchgrove greeted.

An apprentice stirred in the near-empty apprentice den, awakened by the smell of fresh-kill and the light flowing in. Excitement rushed through her as she found herself awake, ready to start the new day. Brookpaw soundly exploded into life from her previous sleeping position, up and out of the apprentice in mere seconds, bounding over towards her mentor, Browntail. "Good morning! How're you? Are we doing anything today? Hunting? Fighting? Eating? All of the above? Oh, hi Birchgrove, Sunpaw! Isn't it just lovely this morning?" the hyperactive apprentice mewed, tail swishing from side to side and ears flickering as she couldn't stop moving, nearly bouncing around in excitement.

Willowfall lifted her head as soft chatter drifted into the warrior's den, her tail falling to the ground with a soft thump. She let out a long yawn before getting to her paws and quietly making her way out of the den. The morning sunlight warmed her fur and she stretched out her forelegs just outside the den. She gave her underbelly a couple licks before Brookpaw's energetic mews met her ears. "Who's the cat chirping more than an early morning robin?" she meowed in a teasing tone as she made her way over to the small group cats. "Good morning everyone," she greeted them.

A lean cat emerged from the center den of the clan's camp, his white and grey fur shining in the sun. He had had a rough couple of nights, figuring out some problems within the clan. He hadn't been able to get the best of sleep and when he did, it was mostly StarClan pulling him from reality and into their world to discuss WindClan. A lot was going to happen in the next few moons but they never told him what was going to happen in clear details. He had to decode it himself and he wasn't able to lately. It confused him. Made him more exhausted than he had liked. The leader of the clan looked out at everyone who was already up. The clan was settling down and everything was peaceful for the time being. Nothing rocky had happened lately. But that didn't mean that he worried or was always on the tips of his paws. He nodded a greeting to each of them and continued into the middle of the clearing, looking at the prey pile and then thinking to himself about what patrols should go out first. They would need to hold apprentice and warrior ceremonies soon. Aspenstar looked over at the cats, waiting for them to walk up to him and inquire about duties today.

Lightears was up early to do inventory on the herbs she had. "Alright, we have a good stock for now," she meowed. She went out of where the medicine cat lived to look at sky. The breeze feels nice today, she thought, this would be a good day to get herbs. Lightears lifted her paw and started to chew on the bark tied to it, it helped with the spot where she was missing a tooth.

Birchgrove was glad to see the clan was finally waking up. The tabby gave a quick nod to Willowfall, purring in amusement at Brookpaw's excitement. As he took a quick look around, Birchgrove took quick notice of Aspenstar.
"Indeed this is quite a beautiful morning Brookpaw. Looks like Aspenstar is awake, if you excuse me, I think I'll go have a word with him," Birchgrove said politely as he moved away from the group and toward his leader, dipping his head respectfully as he approached.
"Good morning Aspenstar. Are there any patrols you'd like me to take out?" Birchgrove asked politely.

Larkdawn padded into the open camp, a relatively-small rabbit clutched in her jaws. It was snuffling so close to where she kept vigil during the night that she couldn't resist the hunt. The long-haired she-cat placed the prey on the freshkill pile and yawned, stretching in the process. It was a long night, but the quiet helped her think. She enjoyed guarding the camp because she could be alone for a while and just listen to the sounds of the moors.
Spotting the leader and a few of her fellow clanmates, Larkdawn padded over to the group. She listened intently, hoping to be put on patrol. She still had a bit of energy before she would need rest, and she might as well use it to her clan's advantage.

The sun's rays warmed her body, and the mild breeze ruffled her darkish brown pelt. Browntail was a bit amused at Brookpaw's excitement; more cats joined in the group, and she greeted them each. The brown warrior's ears perked as she heard Aspenstar enter camp, and she wondered if she should take Brookpaw out on patrol with her. She yawned and stretched out her long, lithe legs. The she-cat's stomach growled as she saw Larkdawn drop a rabbit on the fresh-kill pile. The young warrior decided she would eat after she took her apprentice out on patrol.
Browntail got up and shook her fur, scraps of it falling on the yellow-green grass, and she started to walk over to her deputy and leader. She motioned with her tail for Brookpaw to follow. "Come on Brookpaw, we're going on the dawn patrol today, " the brown she-cat said. Then Browntail flicked her ears in farewell to the group of cats that had joined her and Sunpaw. Afterwards, the brown warrior turned around and, tail and head held high, walked over to where Birchgrove and Aspenstar were standing. "Is there a patrol I can join and take Brookpaw on this morning?" Browntail asked politely.
