The early morning sun was peeking through the light trees as Hawkstar emerged from his den. His den was fixed of willow stems that were carefully woven around the roots of an old willow tree. It had been like that for as long as he remembered. His old leader, Streamstar, had once told him that the warriors of Starclan had woven the stems that way to protect the leader. He glanced around his camp, making sure all the dens were secure and safe for his clan. Most of the dens were made up of tangled up reeds, some had feathers woven in for decoration. Others had rocks and shells around the edges. As he gazed ahead, he purred lightly at the path that led towards the forest. The well-trodden grass led the way from the sedges and the thick bushes of camp. The medicine cat's den was past a deep olive sedge and into a clam den. The apprentice's den was near the others with a warm coating of moss on it. The nursery was tucked away into a thick sedge wall. It was made of willow branches and reeds. The elders' den was at the high end of a slope, made of woven willow stems. The leader took in a deep breath, feeling a warm breeze blow across his coat. He carefully made his way to the center of camp and quietly watched the rising sun. He figured he was the first one awake, as he usually was. His tail lightly twitched and tapped the ground; he purred quietly.

Cranepaw slept inside of the apprentice's den, breathing softly in the early morning. Dew that came up as precipitation from the rivers and pools surrounding the territory hung on the den around her, giving the area a sharp air feeling on her lungs. Paws flailing from a dream, she accidentally fell half out of her nest, getting a face full of dirt. She jumped awake, her fur standing on end from shock from the impact. "What the Starclan?" She mewed, wiping the fur from her face numbly.

OOC: Love your signature Angel!
Hawkstar's ears twitched as he heard the sound of another voice. He had turned his head towards the Apprentice's nest; watching as Cranepaw began cleaning her face. He chuckled as he walked over to her. "Never seen dew before young one?" He commented as he comfortingly groomed the dirt off of the she-cat's ears. It wasn't uncommon for the apprentice's to become unsure when the dew would drop off their den; especially if they had never seen it. He remembered his own experience, which Streamstar had never let him live down.

ooc: Thanks Hawk. ovo I need to add the rest of the leaders to it now that there is more, but I am waiting for Windclan's leader. n.n
ic: Cranepaw narrowed her eyes slightly at the tip of her nose. "I've seen dew before, Hawkstar. I'm just not very happy about it landing on my nose when I am trying to sleep!" She mewed, purring a little as her mentor licked her ears. She was very proud to be the apprentice of the leader, but she felt that she let him down in all of her outbursts and troublesome attitude. "I had a dream Hawkstar, that's all." She assured him, wiping the last of the dirt off her face. "So what are we going to do today? Can we go on a border patrol? Will you teach me battle moves?" She meowed excitedly, pouncing from side to side with her eyes fixed on Hawkstar eagerly, her claws tearing up the ground.

Ashpaw stirred in his nest, drifting in and out of sleep as he heard voices nearby. Can't you guys talk somewhere else? He thought. Being a light sleeper, he was used to his clanmates waking him up unintended, but it never failed to upset him when it happened. Reluctantly, he got up out of his nest and gave his fur a couple of shakes, too tired to bother giving himself a proper grooming. He tiredly hobbled out of the Apprentice's den, ready to give his noisy clanmates an exasperated look until he noticed one of these 'noisy' cats was his clan leader. He quickly dipped his head in respect, immediately becoming self conscious of his messy fur, which still had quite a few bits of moss caught in it.

Cranepaw's fur fluffed up again as there was a sound behind her. She whipped around to see her denmate, Ashpaw. "Good morning!" She mewed, smiling at his messy fur. She padded over and flicked some moss off his head, "Didn't realize that you grew moss out of your ears. Your name should be Mosspaw, not Ashpaw!" She giggled before jumping in a circle excitedly, her conversation with Hawkstar forgotten for now.

Ashpaw's ears lowered in embarrassment, but he managed to cast Cranepaw an amused glance before shaking his pelt again, hoping that some of the moss would end up on her. Very much aware of his leader's presence, Ashpaw licked his chest self consciously, trying to make himself somewhat presentable. He watched Cranepaw as she jumped around, and felt the urge to leap at her and start a playfight, but Hawkstar was there, and the last thing he wanted to do was make the leader think he was still a silly kit. Maybe Hawkstar will let me join him and Cranepaw for training today he thought, glancing between Cranepaw and Hawkstar hopefully.

The morning mist had blanketed the camp in such a wonderful way that for once Willowtail found it hard to rise from her nest in the Warrior's den. In fact it was the chattering outside that finally rose her from her slumber, reminding her that there were anxiously waiting apprentices outside. The chocolate-coated deputy rose and stretched out her spine, with her obnoxiously long tail dragging across the ceiling of the den. After licking down the white patch on her chest, she glided out into the camp and over to where Hawkstar humored the apprentices. She nodded to each of them, eyes catching on the mute Ashpaw, as he clearly begged the leader with his eyes. A smirk rose on her lips, but she still said nothing and waited for Hawkstar's response. In a while, she would grab a few cats for the morning patrol, but she was pretty sure these young ones would probably want more battle practice if she was correct. Her blue eyes sparkled in anticipation.

Elmpaw darted out of the apprentice den, his fur wild and covered with bits of moss and leaves. He was ready to start the day! Scanning the camp, the young cat rose from his crouched position, licking down his chest fur to no avail. Plucking moss from his fur, Elmpaw licked a paw and drew it over his face and head. Stomach growling, he padded to the freshkill pile, selecting a small fish for himself. Mouth watering, the male dug into the meal, relishing the taste.
---
Willowstride rose from her den quietly and slowly, avoiding the sleeping warriors. The cool of the outside air felt good on her short fur, as the warriors den was always hotter than the outside. Despite this, the sun rising heated her back, though not in a bad way. Spotting her leader, the warrior padded forward before she was sidetracked by her brother. He was making large noises as he ate his fish, obnoxiously loud. Willowstride sighed in exasperation, gliding to her kin.
"Brother, could you be a little more... Polite? You'll wake the warriors in ShadowClan with your racket," she exaggerated, ears flicking in amusement. Despite his annoying actions and hyper activity, she liked Elmpaw's quirks. As long as they weren't obnoxious...

Frozenpaw woke up from her long slumber, she had just realized she had slept through the morning. She quickly got up, and shook loose moss off of her fur. She let out a long yawn, stretching wildly, feeling the dew drip off of her. Frozenpaw walked out of the Medicine Cat's den, blinking as the rays of sunlight caught her eyes. She looked around, the sounds of the clan making her smile. She was still getting use to the clan life, still after a couple of moons. She was happy to be a Medicine Cat, even though she knew that she was giving up a love life, kits, and much more, but that didn't matter to her, she enjoyed being able to help others, while her timid attitude sometimes got in the way, she often pushed that aside. No matter what, she wanted to be a part of this clan, to help this clan in times of need, and in times of piece. While she can't fight, while she can only see in one eye, there was still ways she could help, and as long as there was a way, she would strive for it, no matter what.

Dovefeather blinked almost sleepily as the sun broke across the sky, touching the last remaining clouds with bursts of gold and pink. As she had been placed on camp watch the night before, her eyes were heavy with weariness, and her limbs locked with the stiffness of keeping to one spot for so long. However, she reminded herself with a yawn and a small purr to herself, it was finally over. Arching her spine in a luxurious stretch, the pale, long-furred she-cat silently congratulated herself on another task well completed. She had not dozed off once - at least, that she could recall. Her body and mind pleaded for rest, but she banished such thoughts to the side for now. One morning patrol, and then she would find herself the time to sleep.
Turning tail, she headed back into the camp to see Hawkstar entertaining two young apprentices, Ashpaw and Cranepaw, Willowtail sitting serenely nearby. She greeted them all with a nod and sat down within a reasonable distance of Willowtail. "Good morning," she meowed softly, attempting to suppress yet another yawn.

"Good morning, Dovefeather." Willowtail nodded at the warrior and looked around at the rest of the waking cats. As a clan, they were lucky to have so many apprentices. Still, the chattering ones irked her more then she let on. Was she like this as an apprentice; ready to jump into the day and scare off all the prey so early in the morning? To be honest, she probably was. After licking down her chest fur again to dash away the thought, she turned her attention back at the warrior, "I'm thinking of taking out the morning patrol myself this morning. Care joining me? We can go down river after to snag some of the stripped fish. They're full grown around now."

"I'd be happy to join you," Dovefeather replied with a slow blink of her eyes. Just this patrol, she thought, and then you can go to sleep. "It'll be nice to get our paws on a few of those fish. They've always been my favorite."
By StarClan, will these yawns not fade? She swallowed another one down in her chest, her teeth gritted against the urge. "Shall we take any of the apprentices?" she said in a whisper, angling her tail towards the bouncing balls of fluff that were the Clan's future warriors.

"Ah yes, why not." Willowtail got up and padded over to the apprentices and looked each of them over. The deputy hated to be random about which she chose for the morning patrols, but sometimes she would admit it was a matter of chance. She would admit she had been watching all of them since they had awaken, but they all showed relatively equal interest into doing something that morning. Flicking her tail, after she finally decided, she mewed, "Ashpaw and Elmpaw! You're with Dovefeather and I on the morning patrol."
The she-cat was satisfied with her decision and trodded off to wait outside camp until they followed.
OOC: I'll make a thread for the patrol.

At Willowtail's call, Ashpaw's eyes lit up. Morning patrol! he thought excitedly. It wasn't as fun as training with Cranepaw, but it certainly beat things like checking the Elder's for ticks. He gave Cranepaw's shoulder a quick lick farewell, and gave Hawkstar a respectful nod before dashing after Willowtail to wait for the rest of the patrol to assemble. I wonder if we'll get to see any of the other clans he thought. While part of him feared the other clans trespassing onto RiverClan territory, the thought of showing off his training and impressing his clanmates kept finding it's way into his mind.

Elmpaw sat up, wiping the fish from his whiskers hastily with his front paws. A patrol! With his clanmates! The striped tom hopped to his paws, dipping his head in farewell to his sister before bouncing over to the camp entrance. Ashpaw was his clanmate, but Elmpaw could always use another way to get to know his fellow apprentices. The tiny apprentice snaked his way out of the camp, almost bumping into Willowtail. He smiled up at the warrior, in awe of her being a warrior. She must have been an amazing apprentice; all the warriors would have to have been to get promoted. Elmpaw was proud of his clan, his glossy fur perfect for swimming through the rivers. It had been scary at first, but he was a natural.

Frozenpaw saw multiple apprentices, and sighed silently. She stretched once more, before heading further into the camp. She saw the fresh kill pile, and looked inside of it. She saw that there was some prey left, but she decided it was better if others had it, instead of her, she could last longer, and she didn't mind being hungry for a little while, she was use to it. She then searched the area, unsure of what to do. Her mentor wasn't awake yet, and it seemed not many others where still inside of the camp, maybe they where all training, practicing, or patrolling. She figured they might need some more herbs, but she thought that they could wait a little before they would need to have a patrol sent out with the soul purpose of getting herbs.

Squirrelflight pale seaweed green eyes lazily blinked open. She was sprawled on her back in her nest, a patch of moss stuck in her belly fur. She yawned and rolled back onto her side. The medicine cat momentarily thought about going back to sleep, but heard quiet voices outside of the den and saw that Frozenpaw was gone. She slowly got to her feet and shook off the moss stuck to her pelt. Yawning again, she stretched and got to work grooming herself. She planned on taking Frozenpaw out to collect herbs later in the day. They were lower on certain herbs she was comfortable with.

Frozenpaw was deep in thought, thinking about what she should do, and then a smell broke her out of her mind, and she looked around, a little confused at first, and then she caught the site of Squirrelflight, her mentor. Frozenpaw stood up, and stretched, before heading towards the fresh kill pile. She picked up a semi-large fish, and padded over to Squirrelflight. Frozenpaw sat the fish in front of her mentor. "Here you go." Frozenpaw said, looking up at Squirrelflight. "I brought you some fresh-kill."

The medicine cat looked up from cleaning herself to her apprentice dropping a fish in front of her. The smell of the fresh-kill filled her nose and made her stomach grumble. "Thank you, Frozenpaw," she purred to her. The she-cat looked over to see the clan leader messing with one of the apprentices. "Hawkstar, aren't you supposed to be setting a good example for the apprentices instead of teasing them," she meowed to him, flicking her tail playfully.
