Wolfpaw's maw opened up into a yawn, showing off his unusually sharp teeth. Slowly, he uncurled himself from his nest and stretched. The faint smell of Deathpaw indicated that the apprentice had already left. With one paw, he gave it a swift lick and crossed it over his forehead, flattening his bed head. He quickly dipped his head and gave his scruffy chest a few licks, attempting to straighten out the mess but to no avail. With a shrug, he gave up trying to keep his neck fur neat and let himself stretch out before exiting the apprentice den.
The warm glow of the sunlight soaked into his fur as he felt the heat trickle throughout his body. Wolfpaw's rumbling stomach interrupted his quick sunbathing. Trotting over to the prey pile, he had little to choose from the tiny pile of amphibian and lizards. Not exactly in the mood for reptiles but also not having any choice, he gingerly picked up a tiny lizard and looked around. He spotted the medicine cat apprentice near the barrier and decided to join his fellow apprentice.
With a quick wave of his tail in greeting, he settled down next to the other tom. "You know, I wouldn't mind having a mouse or rabbit instead of these tiny prey," Wolfpaw commented, nipping at the small lizard. "Sometimes I envy Thunderclan with their fat rodents for dinner."

OOC: Whitepaw needs a mentor ^-^
IC: Whitepaw stretched his mouth wide, yawning loudly, and the large tom uncurled himself from his nest. Sitting up, the mostly black cat shook his pelt out, before he began licking down the stuck up fur along with the bits of his nest that got stuck. Slipping outside into the crisp morning air, the light beginning to light up the edges of their camp. His stomach rumbled and he swung his piercing green eyes fixated on the prey pile as he licked his maw and set himself at a trot. Nosing around, he picked up a small frog and hungrily ate it in big bites.

Wolfpaw's ears pricked as he heard movement near the apprentice den and spotted his fellow apprentice exiting out and going right for the fresh-kill pile. "Hey Whitepaw!"he called out, beckoning the tom over with his tail tip. "Come join us,"he meowed invitingly. Wolfpaw had already demolished his lizard given the scarce amount of meat on it. Yet the apprentice wasn't inclined to start the day doing apprentice chores just yet. Socializing with his fellow apprentices should pass the time nicely.

Whitepaw swung his head towards the other apprentice, green eyes focusing on Wolfpaw, who looked as if he'd just finished eating. Holding the frog in his maw, he padded over the the other apprentice happily. "Good morning, Wolfpaw" The mostly black tom meowed, before tearing off a piece of the fog and quickly eating it as he laid down on the ground.

"It looks like you don't have much objection to eating frog,"Wolfpaw commented in amusement, eyeing the frog that was being torn apart by Whitepaw.
"I was just saying that I think squirrel and mice are a lot tastier than just reptiles and amphibians. And don't even get me started on rabbits,"the gray=black tom meowed, sighing in contentment as he imagined the warm meat. "I know a place near Thunderclan border with a rabbit burrow. Maybe we can catch something good for ourselves,"Wolfpaw suggested, his eyes sparking with mischief.

Whitepaw blinked in small surprise. He had no want to eat something like a rabbit, they were too hard to get, and he didn't really care for mice or squirrels, leave those to ThunderClan. "I would leave hunting rabbits to WindClan." He stated calmly, finishing the last few bites of frog that were still left quickly, moving on to a through grooming of his pelt and face.

Wolfpaw rolled his eyes at Whitepaw's response. "See, you're not living life. Why not take the challenge to catch a rabbit. I bet I'm as fast as any of those Windclan apprentices,"the gray-black tabby bragged, dropping down with his hindquarters up and wriggling, as if sneaking up on prey. "I say we should go try catching one. I bet the warriors will be really impressed if we got a fat one!"Wolfpaw meowed, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Whitepaw's eyes glinted at the challenge. "Fine," he meowed, "but why don't we make it a competition?" He finished off slyly. Whitepaw loved a challenge, even if it was hunting a rabbit, he felt strongly if he pushed himself further and won. He liked the idea of impressing the warriors, on any occasion.

"You're on!"Wolfpaw said instantly, grinning widely. He had caught his share of rabbits close to Thunderclan territory. Maybe he crossed a pawstep or two past the border but no other cat was there to see to make a fuss about it. The gray-black tom was confident he could win over Whitepaw. "Let's make a bet. The one who gets the biggest rabbit wins. And loser has to do the other cat's chores for 1 moon. That includes changing the elders' beddings,"the tom meowed.

Excitement tingled in Whitepaws pelt. "Great!" Whitepaw's nose twitched as he thought. He had never hunted a rabbit, but he knew they were fast, and startled easily. It didn't occur to him that with his stature that caused him to be somewhat clumsy could get in the way. Whitepaw was determined to win despite that.
