Petalstorm noticed what happened and gave the rest of her vole to Spottedkit. "You need it more than I do," she said. She now knows to get two mice next time she feeds the kits. "Snowkit, Spottedkit, do you two want to explore camp?" Petalstorm asked them.

Spottedkit smiled and nuzzled up against Petalstorm's chest, purring loudly. "Thank you!", she yelped and took a small bite out of the vole. "You're not to blame, Snowkit normally doesn't eat that much. And she's lucky I'm not that hungry, otherwise I would've made her run laps inside the nursery.", Spottedkit joked. Next to her, the white kit's ears drooped down. She had rolled over and was now lying on her back, staring up into the sky. "I said I was sorry!", she wailed regretful, taking Spottedkit's joke way too seriously.
But then, when Spottedkit heard the words 'explore', her ears perked up. Yes, of course she wanted to! A shiver went down her spine. Who would she talk to? Where would they go? Would they be allowed to go everywhere, even the warrior's den? Even... The forbidden dens? Snowkit's response was a little less energetic; she flicked her tail and let out a small burp. "I don't... Erm.. Will it be scary?"

Badgerpaw padded out of the apprentices' den, and he stretched out each of his stubby-ish legs in turn. The black and white apprentice looked around the clearing, the wind ruffling his short pelt. He didn't know what to do yet, since no cat gave him something to do. Did someone tell me to do something, like hunting, or training? Hmmm, I don't remember... Badgerpaw had the worst short term memory, but he could deal with it. He sat down and started to groom himself, and his ears perked up at the sound of kits in the nursery mewling. But he decided not to check it out, and started grooming his chest fur.

"Before we go," Petalstorm told them, "be on your best behavior, don't wander to far, and stay safe." She got up and went to the border of the nursery and tilted her head towards the camp. "Let's go now," she told Spottedkit and Snowkit. Petalstorm walked out and looked behind her waiting for the two kits.

Badgerpaw stopped grooming himself as he heard a cat emerge from the nursery, and the black and white apprentice looked up to see Petalstorm. He liked how the queen had chose to take care of his younger sisters since their mom... passed away.
But the apprentice just shook away the memory and decided to say hi to the she-cat. "Hey there Petalstorm!" He waved his abnormal tail in greeting. Then he got up and walked casually over to her. "How are Snowkit and Spottedkit?" He inquired.

Snowkit and Spottedkit followed Petalstorm, but both in their own way. Snowkit, being a little nervous, stayed as close next to the queen as she could, mainly just looking around without making a sound. Spottedkit, being more energetic and excited, bounced around and wanted to explore every inch of this camp by pressing her nose into every hole she could find, however small it was!
When Snowkit heard Badgerpaw's voice, she only nodded and smiled, indicating she was happy to see him but just very shy. Spottedkit's approach was totally different; she ran towards him and tried to pounce onto him. "Hey Badgerpaw!" she meowed loudly.

Badgerpaw was suddenly knocked down by a little ball of fur; actually, it was Spottedkit who tackled him. Now the black and white apprentice was down on the ground, head planted into the dirt. He was indeed surprised by the sudden impact, but quickly recovered and playfully tried to gently swat Spottedkit's face lightly.
"Hey Spottedkit, what's going on? And where's Snowkit?" Badgerpaw asked. As he said that, he spotted Snowkit close to Petalstorm; the little white kit smiled at him and nodded, a gesture that he figured as a happy greeting.

Petalstorm giggled a little when Spottedkit tackled Badgerpaw. "Hello, Badgerpaw," she meowed to him. Seeing Snowkit still beside her she gently pushed Snowkit away from her. "You can go play with them if you want," Petalstorm purred.

"Ya, come on Snowkit! You should join the fun, " Badgerpaw meowed, sitting up from his spot. Then he started to roll over on the grass, getting dirt and grass all over his short pelt. Afterwards, he stopped frolicking on the grass; the black and white apprentice stood up and shook his pelt out, showering grass and dust over Spottedkit. Whoops! But the black and white apprentice decided to go with the flow of it and stuck out his tongue playfully at his little, energetic sister.

Ooc: I'm sorry for quick post, I'm on my phone. It didn't take long before Spottedkit stumbled off of Badgerpaw again. She quickly stood up again and shook the dirt out of her pelt. Then, when Badgerpaw rolled over the ground and made it rain dust and dirt again, the poor kit had to sneeze a few times. "Hey!" She squeeked and playfully stuck out her tongue. Then she decided she wanted to know more about being an apprentice. "But you get to go out of camp now! What's it like? How big and dangerous is it?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snowkit shook her head and closed her eyes as Badgerpaw made a mess of himself. "Have you learned how to fight yet?" She added one question up to Spottedkit's. "I bet you're very strong now! And fast! Like Mommy!!" Snowkit's eyes twinkled. One day, Badgerpaw will be the strongest and greatest cat ever! He will be able to protect me forever! she thought naively.

"Eh, it's not that dangerous if you have warriors and others with you," Badgerpaw replied to Spottedkit. "But when you're on border patrol, keep your eyes and ears peeled out for other clans trying to intrude our territory!" Too bad I haven't been in a battle yet! I would love show off some of my moves!
"And outside, it is very big! The forest never seems to end, well, until you reach the border. And there's a really big lake too!" The black and white apprentice grinned. When Snowkit asked him another question, he answered, "Yeah, I'm sure I'm pretty tough! I could claw out those many Riverclan cats' eyes off." I don't know if I really do want to claw off any cats' eyes off... but yeah, I woul still beat those Riverclan scum! Then he puffed out his chest boastfully. The apprentice decided to ignore the question about if he was fast, and looked down at his short legs.
"So, what are you guys doing out here?" Badgerpaw inquired. "Getting fresh-kill to eat?"

"Stop boasting, you're never going to get a mate acting like that," Petalstorm purred. She took a few more steps away from Snowkit. "Also, you need to stop relying on other cats, Snowkit," she meowed. Looking back at Guidepaw she meowed, "in a couple months they'll be apprentices, so I though it would be good for them to learn more about the camp."

Badgerpaw snorted. When did we ever start talking about finding mates? But the apprentice stopped boasting, because Petalstorm might be true about that. Hmph. Why should I worry about these things?
"Oh, cool, you guys are exploring camp?" he said. "Well, maybe I could show them around, if you'd like, Petalstorm." Then he laid down on the long grass and yawned again. The sun's rays warmed his fur as he waited for Petalstorm's permission to guide his sisters around camp. I hope I don't forget that I asked to lead them around camp once Petalstorm says I may.

Relying on other cats? What did Petalstorm mean by that? Snowkit didn't know exactly, but she figured it had something to do with her quietness. "No, I want to go together!" She meowed, a little louder now. She wasn't afraid nor shy, but she just thought going together was much more fun and sociable. "I want to see where you sleep first!" Snowkit padded slowly and quietly over to the apprentice's den, but waited for everyone else before entering. She knew it was impolite to storm in and wake everyone up as a result.
--------------------------
Meanwhile, Spottedkit didn't pay much attention to her surroundings, she was too busy bouncing around the camp clearing. Fortunately, most cats, including the clan leader, had gone out of camp already, so it was impossible for her to bump into someone important and make herself look stupid. Spottedkit was after a small, white butterfly. The first few jumps failed miserably, she either lost her balance when she was in the air, not being able to grab the butterfly the right way and falling down onto her side or on her back, or she didn't jump high enough. This wasn't going to work, she had to try a different strategy. Quickly, Spottedkit thought of something; she made herself look smaller, curling up and pressing her body onto the ground. Then, she waited for the right moment, when the butterfly would flutter downwards. The distance between Spottedkit and the butterfly was greater now, but it was closer to the ground so easier to catch. In a heartbeat, Spottedkit sprinted forward and caught it, not with her claws but with her mouth this time. "DID YOU SEE THAT! DID YOU SEE ME! LOOK WHAT I GOT!!" She screamed in excitement.

(OOC: Oh-no, not the butterflies! XD)
"Wow!" Badgerpaw remarked. "You caught something!" The apprentice came over to see what Spottedkit had caught. It was small and white, fluttering, trying to escape from the kit's grasp. Hmm, doesn't look like a bird, or a mouse....
It looks like... like a.... a butterfly? Badgerpaw grinned at the catch though. "You'll make an excellent hunter someday!" commented the black and white tom, although, could you catch prey with that strategy? He might as well forget about how you could catch prey with the trick Spottedkit had played.
Then he noticed Snowkit by the apprentices' den, and went over to stand by her. "You want to see the apprentices' den, huh?" he asked his younger sister. "Then let's go!" He went into the den, motioning with his tail for his sisters to follow.

"Spottedkit, come along," Petalstorm told the kit. She followed Badgerpaw and Snowkit into the apprentices' den. "Their my kits to take care of right now, Badgerpaw," she told the apprentice, "I have to stay with them when they're out of the nursery." Petalstorm stayed close by them to watch the kits.

Spottedkit followed Petalstorm into the apprentices' den. Snowkit was already inside, standing next to Badgerpaw. The den was very big and slightly darker than the nursery, still warm and cozy. To Snowkit's surprise, there was no one inside, she had expected at least a few apprentices inside but there were none! They must've all gone out of camp then, Snowkit thought. If she had had normal hearing, she would've known by how quiet it had been inside. "Nice catch, I saw you from out of the apprentices' den!" Snowkit meowed happily, sniffing the white thing in her sister's mouth. It had stopped fluttering now. Spottedkit laid the butterfly on the ground for Snowkit to examine and turned to Petalstorm. "May I keep it?" she asked.

The dark ginger she-cat entered the camp, her mouth holding onto two mice by their tails, which she promptly dropped into the fresh-kill pile. The she-cat had woken up earlier than the rest of the Clan and had decided to go out for an early hunt. Blazeheart let out a slight hiss of pain as she put too much weight on her right front paw, feeling a sharp pain. Looking down and turning her paw over, the warrior saw the tiny cut she got from stepping on a thorn earlier this morning starting to ooze a bit of blood again. She quickly swiped her tongue over the wound, tasting the blood which made her nose wrinkle in disgust. Blazeheart glanced over at the medicine cat's den, wondering if she should get it check. But the wound is shallow, and Blazeheart figured it'd go away by itself.
She glanced around and found searching for a particular cat. She spotted the apprentice entering the apprentice den with another kit. Petalstorm and Spottedkit had followed after. The dark ginger cat's whiskers twitched in amusement. It wasn't everyday you see such a strange band of cats huddling in an apprentice den. Padding over, Blazeheart stuck her head in the den and meowed, "Having fun? Snowkit, Spottedkit, your first mission as warriors. If you two can kindly drag my apprentice out so he can do some training that'd be great."

Badgerpaw was amused by how Spottedkit asked if she could keep the butterfly. Since Petalstorm had said she would have to look after the kits during their exploration of camp, he might just follow along for the fun of it.
Then he heard a cat's voice come from the den entrance, asking for... her apprentice. Her apprentice? Well, Badgerpaw knew there were no other apprentices in the den, so the cat must be looking in the wrong place. Wait a minute... I'm an apprentice!
Badgerpaw quickly turned around to meet his mentor, Blazeheart. "I don't need to be dragged out by two kits, who are my sisters, to go training Blazeheart, " the black and white cat scoffed. Then he turned to the others and said, "Got to go training! Bye! Hope you guys have fun!" Afterwards, the apprentice ran out of the den and stood by his mentor, waiting for her to speak.

Blazeheart's whiskers twitched in amusement as Badgerpaw took charge and let himself out of the den without his sisters' help.
"Beginnings of a leader: taking initiation yourself,"the dark ginger she-cat joked to her apprentice, batting her tail lightly across his ears. Blazeheart gazed thoughtfully down at Badgerpaw, contemplating on what to do. Before, she had figured maybe more hunting practice, but the fresh-kill pile in the clearing was already quite full, and she was sure a hunting patrol was being sent out. No need for more prey. She figured it was time for some fun training that usually every apprentice looked forward to.
"I'm going to teach you how to climb trees, and use that to our advantage for fighting,"the she-cat meowed to Badgerpaw. "After all, that is Thunderclan's specialty."
Blazeheart glanced over to where Petalstorm and her kits were, and added, "You and your kits are welcome to come watch if you're okay with them exploring outside the camp."
